This 3.5-hour course has been specifically designed for candidates with a provisional licence preparing for their driving test. The aim of the course is to develop safer driving practices around vulnerable road users including people cycling. It has also been designed to help you improve your hazard perceptions skills.
The course includes practical cycling sessions and theory content delivered by expert instuctors. The course starts with 1 hour in the classroom followed by a 2.5-hour practical session on the bike led by an expert instructor. Course material has been developed from the successful Certificate of Professional Competence training for drivers of lorries and buses.
Please note that candidates aged below 17 must hold a provisional driving licence too.

Participants should hold a provisional (or full) driving licence and will benefit from familiarity with the Highway Code.
Candidates should be able to ride a bike in control.
Bikes and helmets will be provided. However, you may bring your own equipment if you prefer. Candidates should wear clothing appropriate for the weather.
