The 2 day Bikeability Scotland instructor Trainer (BSIT) course enables you to deliver the Bikeability Scotland Instructor (BSI) course. You will take on the role of an Instructor Trainer and be shown how to use the Cycling Scotland training hub so that you can add classes, register participants and issue certificates. This course includes familiarisation with the BSI course and resources along with valuable teaching techniques.
You will hold a valid Cycle Trainer certificate and have experience delivering Bikeability Scotland training to children.
This is a two day course. Once you have completed the training, a Cycling Scotland Tutor will provide mentor support for your first BSI course when you are ready to deliver. This may be followed up with additional mentoring if necessary.
You will need a bicycle in working order and clothes appropriate for the weather.
This course is free for anyone intending to train new Bikeability Scotland Instructors (BSI's) upon gaining authorisation from your Bikeability Scotland local authority co-ordinator.
Depending on your local authority, there may be additional opportunities to perform as a mentor to support new Bikeability Scotland instructors. As a BSIT, it is recommended that you hold a valid first aid certificate and appropriate insurance.
