About Me

I am a Cycling Scotland, British Cycling Mountain Bike Leadership (Level 2) and MBLA Tutor. I can train and assess MBLA students to TCL standard and this also includes training and assessment of the Night Ride Leader, Expedition Leader and Winter Riding modules. I am also a Weldtech Cycle mechanic trained to Gold standard. I have over 25 years Mountain biking experience having ridden everything there is to ride in Scotland and a significant number of trails in other parts of the UK and also 10 years experience of riding in the French Alps. I recently stood down after 12 years as the Chairman of the SXC (Scottish Cross Country Race Series) having also done a little racing myself in the past, with a few podium places to my credit and I was awarded Scottish Cycling Volunteer of the year in 2008. I ride MTB and Road bike and I work as a freelance Mountain Bike Instructor and Mountain Leader and this also includes part time freelance work for East Dunbartonshire Council. I like summer and winter climbing and generally take the hard way up most mountains. I am also partner in Simply Epic Adventures outdoor activities company, who specialise in all forms of Mountain Biking, Mountaineering, Climbing, Archery, Paddle sports and a whole lot more.
